Let's sit down, and get to know WHO Krystal is, where she is looking to go, and get familiar with her story. Here is, Krystal Garner!
Insure Success: Where are you from? How did you get into modeling? Who inspired you to get into modeling? What do you look to obtain or gain from your modeling experience/career?
Krystal Garner: I was born and raised in Staten Island NY. I attended high school of Fashion Industries. While there I was able to design and participate in fashion shows, which sparked a real desire. Growing up I was always made fun of for being skinny and tall. My mother used to tell me she was the same way growing up and that's why she did modeling. It was her childhood dream, and I am blessed to be living it for her. I plan on using my career as an example to the youth that dreams are real, you just have to keep reaching for your goals.
Insure Success: Our team had the lovely opportunity to check out your Biography on www.krystalgarner.com. It states that you were born and raised in a violent and drug stricken environment. How were you able to keep such a positive and motivating outlook in life, and not be deterred by the arguably 'negative environment' which you were surrounded in? It seems that you could you have used your surroundings as an excuse to under achieve but did not.
Krystal Garner: Growing up with continuous influences of negativity is not easy to surpass. At a young age I decided on my own to attend church. Through bible study, I began to realize there was something greater than my surroundings. I became disgusted with the life people settled for around me. I made a conscious decision to be greater and show them what else was out there. I decided to travel to high school in Manhattan. Then went away to college. Every time I was ever told I couldn't do, I made it a goal to accomplish.
Insure Success: What are your most deepest goals, desires, ambitions in life & in modeling? What separates you from other models?
Krystal Garner: My purpose in life is to help others. I plan through my career to let my light shine to encourage others they can do the same. My deepest goal is to be an advocate for the youth. I plan to be the voice to help them become the best future leaders of our time. I feel that I'm not just a model, I'm a role model. Modeling is a talent, it's not just taking pictures. I respect myself and I value my womanhood.
Insure Success: What's your view/opinion on "Video Girls." You know, the "Hip Hop Honey's in the music videos that are "Models." What category do they fall in?
Krystal Garner: First, I would like to say that everyone is entitled to do what they desire to do. In my opinion, I would love to see my women of color not be degraded. I do not do that type of modeling. Videos that are tastefully done, I would work in: such as Tyrese' "Stay". There are many types of modeling, and I wish everyone success.
Insure Success: What constitutes someone as a 'model'? (Nowadays, most women think they can dress scandalously, or dance half nude in a video and automatically they are a model) Do you look at modeling as an Art Form? And Why? What are your current views and opinions about the industry? Do you think all women get a "fair shake" in the modeling industry? (If not, who are at a an disadvantage? Who are at an advantage?"
Modeling is not an easy industry. You have to research the field and define what type of model you are. Most people assume you have to be over 6 foot and a size zero or be a video vixen. Just because you take pictures nicely doesn't make you a model, it's an art and a lifestyle. Everyday I am busy with something that has to do with positively impacting my career. I work out daily, go on go sees, network, meet with my management, audition, submit, it's a constant grind.
Insure Success: How did the Grey Goose commercial opportunity arise? What are some of your accolades or accomplishments in modeling thus far? What was it like hosting the 2010 Miss Black and Gold Pageant? How did you hear about The Black Opal Beauty Search? What is it? How can your fans and supporters aid you in this endeavor?
Krystal Garner: I'm always casting and auditioning through my agencies and personal efforts! Some recent work to look out for me in are Grey Goose Cherry Noir Commercial, Blackberry Bold web commercial, Touch Tunes Commercial and much more!

I love hosting scholarship pageants, it allows me to take part of something greater! To make someone's college career more affordable is amazing to me. I plan to give scholarships when I'm able to.
Currently I'm a Top 25 semi-finalist Black Opal's True Beauty Model Search. Black Opal is currently looking for their new face of their make-up brand which caters to women of color. The prizes include scholarship money which I would use to go to graduate school. They are looking for a woman that is beautiful inside out. Insure Success: What are five words that best describe your personality. What are some of your hobbies and interests.
I play basketball, reading, drawing, dancing, stepping and love to workout.
Insure Success: What do the words "Bleed Ambition" mean to you? Any advice for others who are trying to fulfill there dreams?
Krystal Garner: Bleed Ambition is such a powerful phrase and I believe it describes my life. It's one thing to have ambition for your passion, but to bleed for it... That means to me, by any means, I will be successful! My advice is simple. Never Give Up!!! If it were easy to achieve it, wouldn't everyone do it? Be Great!
